Contest
Categories and Prizes

Each

White, and Vegetarian.  Red chilis are traditional chilis made
from beef, pork, or a combination of meats.  White chilis are
primarily chicken based.  Vegetarian chilis have no meat or
meat-based stocks.

Prizes
will be awarded by a panel of judges in each of category.
Addtionally, one chili entry will be awarded the Judge's Prize,
as top tasting chili in the contest.  Finally, a prize will be
awarded to the most popular chili, as voted by the public at large.
Each visitor will be given a token in which to place their
vote.

Set
Up Regulations

Each
contestant will have an 8' x 8' space provided for setup.  You
will be required to bring your own tables or canopies.  Please
note that canopies must be properly secured.  Electricity will
be provided, but we suggest that each contestant bring proper
extension cords and gear.  Setup will begin at 8:30 am.  All
booths are required to be ready at 10:45 am.  Please allow
enough time to setup your gear.  You may begin breaking down
your site no earlier than 2 pm.

If
a contestant is representing a business or community organization,
they are welcomed and encouraged to display any banners or brochures,
provided that these do not interfere with the contest or other
contestants.  You will not be allowed to sell any items while at
your booth.  If you would like to sell items, you may have an
additional booth governed by the rules and regulations of the Hutto
Mercantile.

We
will provide small cups for serving your chili.  We recommend a
serving size of 3 oz. and ask that contestants prepare a minimum of
30 servings (2.5 gallons).  Visitors will present you with a
ticket to redeem for a serving of chili.

We
will have a condiment bar providing cheese, onions, and crackers.  If
you require any additional condiments, please feel free to provide
them at your booth.
